I live in a modern house in a riverside village called Wivenhoe. It's a big
change from the many years I spent in a rural paradise in an ancient
cottage. However I still have my ancient husband and Border Collie, Zoe,
for company.
I was born in the Isle of Man, in Ramsey, but have never been back to visit.
Perhaps one day. I spent my first four years in Berkshire where I developed
my life long love of horses by spending time with our bad-tempered
shetland pony. We then moved to St John's Wood, London, where we
remained until I was eleven. We moved to Wivenhoe -and I married and
had my children baptised at the lovely Norman church in this village.
We have come full circle. It's wonderful to have a train and buses on the
doorstep and shops within walking distance. Also I have friends and
family still living here.
Over the years I have worked as a nanny, a secretary, a cleaner, a
restaurateur, an hotelier, a Secondary and Primary teacher but am now,
finally, a writer. Throughout the years I never doubted I would become a
published author. My cupboard is filled with half-written books, ideas and
unfinished stories.
I write because I have to, I would do it anyway, but knowing other people
are enjoying my stories makes all the angst and scribbling worth while.
I have nine hardbacks published by Robert Hale and all are out in Large
Print. I have ten novellas published with My Weekly Pocket Novels and all
these have been sold to Linford Romance. I have also sold two longer
novellas to People's Friend Pocket Novels and one of these is coming out
with Linford this year.
Miss Bennet & Mr Bingley the Pride and Prejudice story seen from a
different perspective - is available on Amazon and elsewhere.
I am now writing for Aurora Regency Aspen Mountain Press and my first two books, Miss Peterson &
The Colonel and A Cornish Maid are available from their website. I have a further four coming out with Aurora this year. I can't tell you how excited I am to be part of the e-publishing market.
Of course you can still buy my older titles as e-books from www.regencyreads.com.
